Arizer Solo Vaporizer Review

The Arizer Solo is one of the best portable dry herb vaporizers on the market! It is very easy to use, produces a wonderful vape experience, and gives you an option of 7 different temperature settings, and much more! The vaporizer unit is available in 2 different colors, which are black and silver. The unit is built really well, and well worth the price investment! If you haven’t heard about the Arizer Solo, it can be found here or read below for more information about the Solo, by Arizer.

Shipping / Packaging

The Arizer Solo was shipped very discreet, and was packaged really well. Within the plain brown shipping box, there are 2 more boxes inside. The smaller white box has a straight glass stem, a bent or angled stem, an aroma dish, along with some aromatherapy blends (I received wild flowers with mine and assume they’re all the same, but I’m not sure). All of the glass pieces are wrapped inside of bubble wrap, to keep them packaged safe. The bigger box will contain the heating unit and the power adapter, to charge the unit. Depending on the company you choose to purchase this vaporizer from, you have a choice of adding additional accessories, and some companies add in bonus items, just for choosing their store.

The Vaporizer Unit

The unit comes in 2 different color variations, black and silver. It is 4.5″ tall and 1.75″ wide, and weighs only 8.3oz. It is small enough to fit inside of your pocket, and will fit inside of cup holders, as well. It’s around the size of a Red Bull can.

On the front panel, or main display, there is are 2 silver buttons, which are up and down arrows, as well as 10 series of LED lights on the front panel, which are Charge, Heat, 1 – 7 on temperature levels, and idle. When in use, the idle, and temperature levels are lit up, and the heat light flashes, when heating off and on. The LED’s aren’t too bright, and are easily hidden, when the lights are facing towards your palm. When the unit is being used, it gets warm, but doesn’t get too hot, when used responsibly.

At the top of the unit, there is a small cap, which covers the heating element for protection and to keep dust particles out. The cap slides back and worth, and made really well. I haven’t had any problems with the cap yet (luckily).

Glass Stems

There are 2 glass stem variations, one straight and one curved. Both have 4 small holes, which helps protect against getting herb particles into your mouth, when taking draws. If you prefer to use a metal screen, to help even more, the screen size needed is 5/8″. Additional stems and screens can be found at websites, such as VaporNation. I have seen a few other websites carry custom stem designs, as well.

The stems are made very well, and built pretty tough. They can hold around 0.3 grams of dry herbs, and will last for about 8 to 12 draws, before having to refill or change the herb. It is always best to use material which has been grinded, because it burns evenly, but it can burn the bud when broken down, as well. It just doesn’t work as well.

Charging / Battery Life

The older versions won’t work, or allow you to use the vaporizer, while the unit is charging, but the updated versions allow pass-through functionality. There has been a lot of improvements, over the years, and the Arizer Solo seems to keep getting better, each time.

When charging the unit, it requires a 12v power supply in order to charge, and is plugged in from the bottom of the unit. It takes about an hour to fully charge, from 0 to 100 percent. When fully charged, you will see the flashing green light, above the heat light, turn to a solid green, indicating the battery is 100% charged. Once the batteries start to get low, the LED lights become dimmer.

The batteries used in the unit are Lithium-Ion’s, and last a while in between charges. On continuous usage, the battery is said to last around 2-3 hours of nonstop usage, before having to charge it. Normally, you would only use the Arizer Solo for approximately 12 minutes, during each session. So, you will be able to use this quite a lot, before actually having to charge it.

Tempeature Settings

There are a total of 7 temperature settings, on the Arizer Solo. The levels are as shown below: I normally keep my temperature setting at the 4 option, which is 383°F. Some people choose to go with the 5 or 6 setting, as well. If you choose to go from level 4 to level 6, while in middle of vaping, the unit will hold it’s current temperature, and increase, as it heats up. You can still use the device, while it is heating up or changing temperatures. If you decrease the temperature, while vaping, it’ll gradually decrease, as well. It takes less than 2 minutes to completely heat up, and ready to vape!

Pro’s & Con’s

As for the pros, the unit is very durable and built really well. You really get what you pay for. The heating chamber is made of stainless steel, and from using it for about a year, I’ve never had a problem with it at all. You do have a lifetime warranty, in case if anything does go wrong, for any reason.

There are a wide range of attachments to choose from online, for customization, such as a variety of stems, or even personal skin wraps to give your device a custom look. There is even an additional water tool, and so many attachments, which allow you to use the vaporizer with other smoking devices or pieces.

The battery life is amazing, and lasts a really long time, before needing to be charged again. If you ever need to replace the battery, they’re normally around $50 or so, and you’ll be able to find replacement walk through guides online, and are easy to follow. There were a few cons, but not too many. The one’s I notice is with this device is once you’ve had this product is after a while, the glass stems become loose. They don’t get loose to the point of not being able to use them, but a lot looser than they should be. Replacement glass stems can be found online, and at a decent price. As long as you’re careful with them, you won’t have to replace them any time soon, and they do last a long while, but eventually, you’ll have to change them out.

Another con is having the charger plug in at the bottom of the unit. This prevents you from setting the unit upright, while charging. There are charging docks available separately, but it would have been better to have the charging port on the back section, near the bottom.

The portability is decent, but I wouldn’t recommend it for being too discreet, like being out in public with a lot of people around, you really wouldn’t be able to hide it too well. I have seen people using them inside of a McDonald’s cup, so there are ways around it.

The Arizer Solo has been one of my favorite vaporizers, and I have been using it for quite some time now. It’s usually my go-to vaporizer, because I really love everything about it. I haven’t had any problems with the unit and cleaning the stems has always been real easy, as well. I usually just wash them out with the combination of salt and rubbing alcohol, and then flush them with warm or hot water, then air dry or if in a rush, you can use a blow dryer to speed up the drying process.

If I had to go back in time, and re-purchase this vaporizer again, I would. For the price of this device, it was really worth it! I would recommend this to anyone who is just getting into vaping, as well as vapor veterans.
